This is what happens when you turn off “Dora the Explorer” and turn on the Braves opening day game. Note she did not quit eating her PBJ while delivering this excellent tantrum.
Shaved, poked prodded, tube down his nose and stapled to his beak. But he’s now home, happy and smiling.

The old fart gave us a scare Friday. He started breathing heavy, quit eating, just lying around totally listless. Stewart lugged him to hospital Saturday and he was diagnosed with Pneumonia. I went up there this morning to say good-bye to him. I crawled in the cage with him and he went nuts. barking, licking me, wagging his tail, pulled his oxygen out. Doc says the activity is encouraging and he likely has enough fight to go on a bit longer. More later. We will go back out for another visit this afternoon.
I’m trying to get a good picture of the incredibly fast healing going on with Ava’s slip-on-the-ice-nose-wound. But she is not cooperating.
Some last pictures… The tubing run a took Ava down at the top of the mountain. This thing was more like a bobsled run and I thought Ava may never speak to me again, but she appears to be over it now and she really enjoyed the gondola ride up and down. On the way back to Golden, we detoured over Lookout Mountain to see grave of Buffalo Bill, Elks, Bison and worlds largest ball of twine. Note Claire with new bionic arm in BB pic.

Sunny’s friend Claire now has a bionic elbow. They just landed safely in Orlando. Harris family in route to Charleston now. It was a wonderful trip (except for the emergency surgery there at the end!)
We found the greatest bar on earth. At the bottom of a steep run, you sit out side in beach chairs and watch guys fly down the mountain. Its like sitting out at the beach. Its also cool because you have to be able to ski advanced slopes to even get there.
Ava had a girls day with Sunny and Claire today and Stewart and I got a full day on the slopes.

Wonderful week so far. We wake up to light snow, then the sun pops out.
Stopped at a friends house in Golden on the way up and Ava and Sunny immediatley wiped out on the icy sidewalk. Ava took to worst of it. But she rallied as usual.
Stewart caught my very first snowboard run on video. I’m taking Sunny and Clair out this morning will get some more footage.

So I called home today from Charlotte. Stewart hands the phone to Ava… “I love you daddeee”. Life is good.
